Without sounding really old, where the bleep did 2022 go?

So how was your business year?

Do you take or have you taken time out to review the business and what went well and what didn’t, so you can carry anything good over into 2023 and leave any crappy behind in 2022? I certainly do and find it a useful exercise to pay myself and everyone who has helped me and the business along the way and to take any learnings into my plan for the next year.

I like to take stock business wise, so here is a blog from me all about Pinpoint’s year, in brief. Thank you in advance for reading it.


I continued to work with my lovely and long term retainer clients whom I have had for many years now supporting their needs and acting as their marketing department on a weekly and monthly basis. In particular, 3 High Wycombe based businesses – Wycombe Carpet Centre, Sygnus Office Partnership and Miles Shepherd office supplies. And I worked with some new clients too, including CB Talent Consulting, Ryemead, Donna Scott Services and SFE services.

The business was also reunited with a few names and faces from networking in years gone by and have the pleasure of working with and supporting their marketing plans and growth.


I continued networking with The Athena Network where I have been a member for over a decade, ran by Jacqueline Rogers, as well as finding some new meetings, namely Wycombe Business Buzz hosted by Tara Hopkins and Sally Hindmarch. The business and I have met some great connections and formed some great relationships. We also delivered some webinars, business development talks and workshops on all things marketing.


In terms of growing the business and venturing into more networking, coaching and being surrounded by like minded, growing and successful businesses, I joined Bigger Brighter Bolder in July thanks to the support and backing of Tracey Miller and also George and the team. I have reconnected with some previous and regular contacts as well as making many many new connections for collaborations, support and much more!

And I was accepted onto the NatWest Accelerator programme this year in September, thanks to the support of Theo Paphitis and #SBS and also Debbie Lewis from NatWest who gave a talk at the annual SBS event of 2022 in Birmingham, that inspired me to get in touch. And the NatWest opportunities conversations continue with Stewart Smith and the London based team/Hub.


MD Nicole also became an FCIM, fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing in 2022 as well, and continues to improve her skills, knowledge and network through CPD.

The business – processes and packages

We also worked on the business as well as in it, but setting up new processes and tech to make life easier for our clients including Calendly, Mailchimp automation, brainstorming hours and improving our monthly accountability and measuring support with Excel. Thanks Donna Scott for the support, and Lisa Russell and Veronica Kitton.

Pinpoint also created new packages, including our outsourced marketing director’s package.


I read a lot of business books and helpful books including George Swift’s “28 days self esteem reboot” and Marcus Sheridan’s “They ask you answer” Both so insightful and almost every page had its corner turned for an action or reminder note.

What we do best

And finally, we wrote and delivered (and in some cases implemented) some cracking Marketing strategies and plans for clients too.


I got a tattoo at the age of 44, just because I wanted to! It is a heart and it’s red and I love it. And I holidayed abroad with my family twice for the first time since lockdowns.


So how are you feeling about 2023? We are optimistic, ready to take some time off over Christmas and then recharge to hit the ground running in 2023!
